My Favorite, Unique Gift Ideas for Mom

Spread the love

Moms can be difficult to shop for. I mean, it’s often easy to buy them something they need (just last year on Black Friday I bought myself an Instant Pot and genuinely thanked my husband for getting me such an awesome Christmas gift.) But what about a special gift for mom that’s just fun? Something that doesn’t have anything to do with her work or the house or home education? Check out these awesome, unique gift ideas for the moms in your life! These gift ideas will work for Christmas, birthday, Mother’s Day, or just a We’re-Happy-You’re-You day!

{Or, you know, just send this list to your family so they know what to get for you!}

Exclusive, Hand-painted Wooden Jewelry

J. Farag Design earrings make me swoon! I wear my favorite pair all the time, and so do many of my friends. We never fail to get compliments when we wear these! No matter what style or color palette Mom loves, you’re sure to find a pair that fits her unique personality. Jillian can even fill custom orders if there is a specific design you’d like!

Bibliophile Mug

“The venerable dead are waiting in my library to entertain me and relieve me from the nonsense of surviving mortals.” ~ Samuel Davies

If Mom loves books, this mug is for her! You can customize and choose different sizes and styles of mugs for the ideal fit.

Hand-Poured Soy Candles and Melts

Little Sparrows Candle Co. offers a wide variety of scent options so you can pick out just the right one for Mom. And the jars are just beautiful! The scents offered change with the seasons, so no matter what holiday you’re shopping for you’re able to find a good match. (You can also follow the homeschool mom behind the candles on Instagram here.)

Shirt for the Mom who Loves Libraries

This is possibly my favorite t-shirt of all time. I wear it often, and mostly it speaks truth: after whatever we’re doing, we often do head to our local library. Super fun, and easy to pick your favorite color. (I’d size up for a not-too-tight fit.)

(Bonus: I love all the unique book-themed clothing options available from Out-of-Print, too!)

Literary Art

Obvious State is such a fun resource for original, one-of-a-kind literary art! Whether you’re looking for a print for your wall, an illustrated gift book, or a quotable mug, they’ve got you covered. I seriously love everything I’ve purchased from them! (One of their products is in the first image in this post!)

If you are a mom, what’s been a unique gift you have loved?

Amy Sloan and her husband, John, are second-generation homeschoolers by grace alone to 5 children ages 4, 7, 9, 12, and 14. Their educational philosophy is one of humility and doxology, and follows primarily a classical approach. Amy loves coffee, and starts getting nervous if the stack of to-be-read library books beside her bed is less than 2 feet tall. Get her started on Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Homer, or Hamilton the Musical and it might be hard to get her to stop. Mostly, though, she gets really excited about the Gospel.
